By examining the city's urbanization history from the 1st to the 4th Industrial Revolution, spanning over a century, this study focuses on urban growth patterns and their associated factors. The research utilizes primarily archival data, supplemented by relevant internet sources. The researcher acknowledges the support and assistance received from the Cebu Studies Center at the University of San Carlos Library Research Center and the students and faculty of the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and History, who contributed valuable ideas during the data-gathering process. Additionally, gratitude is expressed to Mrs. Genara Pacana and her class in Cebu's Local History and Culture for providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge and insights on Cebu's history.
